Marion Z. Luckers lived and enjoyed a full life despite battling many illnesses for more than a decade. She was a dialysis patient for approximately five years and was not a candidate for a kidney transplant. Her family witnessed the pain and suffering of being a dialysis patient. She would listen to her favorite gospel song “I Won’t Complain” by Reverend Paul Jones while she was undergoing her dialysis treatments.

 

Marion was a creative person who enjoyed painting and teaching ceramics, making flower arrangements, treasuring family moments through scrapbooking, and creating beautiful cards with personalized sentiments for family and friends. In addition, she was a phenomenal cook and entertained her children’s friends for the holidays and milestone events. At an early age, Marion accepted Christ and committed her life to God. She spent many years teaching God’s word to children through Sunday School and Vacation Bible.

 

While in high school, at the age of 16, Marion met her life-long partner Cleveland Luckers, Jr. Within their 35 years of marriage, Marion’s greatest joy was being a proud and loving mother to her children Lynette and Stephen. Marion was a faithful, loving, loyal wife and mother. She graduated from John Bartram High School and later acquired her Associates Degree from Pierce College.  She will be remembered as a supportive wife, mother, sister, auntie, grand-auntie, and friend who encourage them in their success and helped them through the difficult challenges.
